On our city sightseeing tour this morning, we discover why Vancouver is one of the most interesting cities in North America. Our tour takes us through Stanley Park, Chinatown, Gastown, past English Bay as well as some prestigious residential areas of Vancouver like Shaughnessy. This afternoon we will experience the natural wonder of British Columbia’s Pacific coastal rainforest and the thrill of standing 150 meters (450 ft) above the Capilano River at the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park.

This morning we start our journey into British Columbia, Canada’s western-most province. A highlight today is a river safari ride through Grizzly Bear Valley, right in the heart of the world’s only inland temperate rainforest. We will hope to see bears and wildlife in their natural environment, without the constraints of gates and cages, from the safety of a boat mid river, presenting the best opportunities for the perfect photograph.Kamloops is known for its dry semi-arid climate, rolling hills, two converging rivers, the Thompson and the Nicola and the abundance of parks.

As we start our journey to Jasper, the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies. A stop is made at the foot of Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. The panels and kiosks at the location are informative while the views on a clear are stunning. Originally a tiny railway town, Jasper’s small-town charm is very different from the alpine resort style glamour of Banff. Surrounded by towering mountains, crystal clear lakes, and abundant wildlife, Jasper town located within the Jasper National Park is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will take a ride up to Whistler Mountain on the Jasper SkyTram.

Today’s journey takes us through 45 km of the most spectacular scenery anywhere in the Canadian Rockies. The Maligne Valley is home to a wide range of flora and fauna and has geological features unique anywhere in the world. Our journey will be searching for the abundant wildlife while explaining the history and natural wonders to be explored. A stop at Maligne Canyon allows us time to explore the two bridges, offering fantastic views of the cascading waterfall and continuing erosion of the ancient limestone. As we continue into the Valley we will rise into the sub-alpine forests and view the expanding ranges of limestone rising out of Medicine Lake. This mysterious disappearing lake will change seasonally as the flow rates of melt waters fill and empty this basin. A stop is made to photograph this natural wonder and your guide will trace its history with you. From Medicine Lake we continue up through forest that is prime habitat for moose, bears. Sightings are common but not guaranteed as we are trying to view these animals in their natural habitat.At world famous Maligne Lake you will be led on a 3-4 km interpretive nature walk. You will take in beautiful lakeshore vistas before following the easy-grade trail loop back into the forested surrounds. Along the way, your guide will share interesting ecological facts.

Travelling through the heart of the Canadian Rockies, we drive along the famous Icefields Parkway which has been voted one of the most spectacular drives in the world. You will see for yourself why this mountain road that boasts a unique landscape rich in history and natural beauty second to none is so famous.A short distance later at The Crossing, one of a few stops along this spectacular highway, we take a short detour to the shores of Abraham Lake to experience the Rockies from a completely different perspective with a thrilling helicopter ride over the Rocky Mountains. We rejoin the parkway and later arrive at the famous Columbia Icefields whose waters feed three oceans; we visit the Interpretive Centre then have the experience of a lifetime – a ride on the Ice Explorer vehicle for a close look at the Athabasca Glacier. Finally, at the end of this exciting day, we see the powerful Athabasca Falls before our night stay at the crossing resort.

As we journey through Lake Louise, a jewel of the Rockies surrounded by glistening glaciers and towering snow-capped mountain peaks. You may have seen photos of the lake, but you will not be prepared for the experience of rounding the corner, getting the first sight of the emerald, green waters, and the rugged peaks as a backdrop. Late in the day, with the glowing sun dropping behind Mount Victoria, you have likely never seen anything so dramatically beautiful.

This morning we drive along the famous Bow Valley Parkway, where wildlife sightings of caribou, elk, and occasionally, bears, are common so keep your cameras handy. We stop at Johnston Canyon for a walk through the deep rugged canyon with several waterfalls and then cross the Continental Divide to the western slopes of the Rocky Mountain range into Yoho National Park in British Columbia. The awe-inspiring Emerald Lake, filled with glacial run-off water that makes it glisten with the blue-green hue of an emerald, is also one of our stops today.Nestled high in the Canadian Rockies, the town of Banff is located within the Banff National Park. Once “Siding 29” on the Canadian Pacific Railway, the town of Banff was intended to be a tourist town from its very inception. The park’s first superintendent, George Stewart, even oriented the town’s first street so that it offered the best possible view of Cascade Mountain. With easy access to pristine wilderness, outdoor adventures, jaw-dropping landscape, and a vibrant history, there are many places to visit in Banff and Lake Louise.

The town of Banff is a spirited place, and, in every direction, you are surrounded by strikingly beautiful and rugged mountains that seem to burst straight out of the ground. The town site of Banff covers almost 4 km2 and is at an elevation of 1,383 meters (4,537 feet), making it the highest town in Canada. Banff is flanked on all sides by towering mountains, including Mount Rundle, Sulphur Mountain, Mount Norquay, and Cascade Mountain. You may see a herd of elk wandering down the main street during your early morning walk. The lively streets of downtown are lined with top-class restaurants, bars, and shops, as well as a vibrant range of art galleries and museums. Before we end our Banff journey, we will make a stop at Cascade Gardens and beautiful Bow Falls, then ride the gondola up Sulphur Mountain for an unparalleled view of the mountains and valley below. Also included is time at Cave & Basin National Historic Site, which tells the story of the hot springs that drew visitors to Banff and led to the creation of the National Park.

Today we make our way to Calgary with a stop to visit the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary which provides an up close and intimate look at wolves and wolfdogs. During your visit you will gain a better understanding about wild wolves and their importance in the natural environment while also seeing firsthand wolf behaviour through the wolfdogs at the sanctuary. You will have plenty of photo opportunities and ample time to speak with the sanctuary guardian who will answer all your questions. Finally, we continue to Banff in time to enjoy some dinner.Welcome to Calgary, the largest city in the western Canadian province of Alberta. While you are here to experience the bucket list adventure experience of travelling through the breath-taking Canadian Rockies, take some time to explore the award-winning architectural masterpiece of Calgary’s Public Library, walk along the scenic Bow Valley River pathways or experience the buzz of downtown Stephen Avenue with its stores and restaurants.

We continue our journey to Calgary, the largest city in the western Canadian province of Alberta. Time permitting, we may drive through the heart of the city as we make our way to Cross Iron Mills, a fully enclosed shopping centre development just outside the northern city limits of Calgary, where we will have some time for shopping. This afternoon we return to the city and spend some time at leisure before we visit the Calgary Tower, where we will ascend the 190.8-meter free standing observation tower in the heart of Downtown Calgary. This evening, we enjoy a delicious dinner as a group at the Sky 360 Restaurant, the revolving restaurant on top of the Calgary Tower that offers magnificent views of the City of Calgary & the Rocky Mountains, delicious food, and an unforgettable experience!

Today we embark on a tour of Calgary and discover the history, arts and culture that define the city. Explore unique communities including Eau Claire, Kensington, and Inglewood, named the best neighbourhood in Canada in 2014. We spend time at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre of Canada, which honours and preserves Canadian Music’s diverse history through interactive exhibits and displays showcasing all musical genres. This afternoon we step back in time at Heritage Park Historical Village, Canada’s largest living history museum. Explore nearly a century of Alberta’s history from the fur traders and first nation way of life in 1860 to a more modern time of the 1950’s. From the antique midway, the steam train, and Gasoline Alley, showcasing one of the largest collections of antique cars in Canada, there is something for everyone at Heritage Park.

Travelling northeast of Calgary, we soon arrive in Drumheller, Alberta. Located in the Badlands of the Red Deer Valley, Drumheller was once a booming Coal town with over 100 active coal mines in the region. Now, it is best known as the home of the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology. Before arriving at Drumheller, we will make a stop at the Horseshoe Canyon viewpoint. Stand on the edge of this huge u-shaped canyon and survey the beauty and mystery of the badlands. The two arms of the canyon extend approximately 5 km each and the platforms at the top provide amazing vistas for picture-perfect photos. After taking in the view, we will make our way to the Royal Tyrrell Museum. Royal Tyrrell Museum was named after, Joseph Burr Tyrrell, a geologist who accidentally unearthed the first dinosaur fossil in the Red Deer Valley in 1884 while searching for coal seams. Royal Tyrrell opened in 1985 and is a world-renowned museum boasting over 130 000 fossils and one of the most complete Tyrannosaurus Rex (T-Rex) skeletons in the world.

As we depart Drumheller, we will make a stop to take in the spectacular views as we drive through the iconic Hoodoos and shape the landscape of the Badlands. Explore the outstanding landscapes, prairies, and sights of southeastern Alberta during your trip from Drumheller to Medicine Hat. Visit the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre. A marvel of contemporary Canadian architecture on traditional Blackfoot territory, just steps from the South Saskatchewan River, the Esplanade occupies an eminent position on downtown’s elegant First Street South. From its rooftop terrace, you can see Saamis, the shoreline escarpment which is the setting for the story of how Medicine Hat got its name.

This morning we will have free time to explore the park before our departure to Saskatoon. As we explore Cypress Hills, is the highest spot in Canada east of the Rocky Mountains and it is home to moose, elk, bobcats, and a variety of deer. Saskatoon is the largest city in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It was founded in 1883 as the proposed capital of a temperature colony, and its name was derived from Mis-sask-quah-toomina, a Cree word for a local edible red berry.

This morning we travel a short distance north of Saskatoon to Wanuskewin Heritage Park, a place steeped in Aboriginal history. Wanuskewin, which means Gathering Place, is an ancient site dating back 6000 years where nomadic tribes who roamed the Northern Plains came together to hunt, gather food and shelter themselves from the frigid winters. Archaeological sites at Wanuskewin date back 6000 years which make them older than the Egyptian Pyramids. Much of Wanuskewin has been unearthed and preserved and continues to be discovered with active archaeological digs but a great deal remains undiscovered. We continue onto Batoche National Historic Site, originally a Métis settlement, it has become known for its role in the Northwest Rebellion of 1885. The Northwest Rebellion was a brief uprising by the Métis people, led by Louis Riel and ultimately ending in the definitive battle at the Siege of Batoche. Discover the story of this important moment in Canadian history at Batoche, where bullet holes from that fateful battle can still be seen today. Travelling back into Saskatoon, we discover the inspiration for the city name, the Saskatoon Berry at a local berry farm. Saskatoon berries are grown primarily in Western Canada and northwestern regions of the United States. A sweet, dry berry, now used locally for baking and preserves, was once used by Aboriginals to make pemmican, historically, a staple of their diet. Our day ends with a peaceful dinner cruise on the South Saskatchewan River, under the lights of downtown Saskatoon.

Departing Saskatoon this morning we travel south to Moose Jaw, a small city with a big history. Moose Jaw, home of Canadian Forces Base Moose Jaw, which is the base of the world-renowned Snowbirds, an Air Force aerobatic flight team. Moose Jaw is also famous for the Tunnels of Moose Jaw, prohibition-era tunnels used by Al Capone himself between Chicago and Moose Jaw, which we explore on a guided tour. Regina, the capital city of Saskatchewan. The home of Saskatchewan’s government, Regina was named originally names Wascana, Cree for ‘Buffalo Bones’ before being renamed Regina, Latin for ‘Queen’ in 1882 honouring Queen Victoria.

We explore Regina on a city tour featuring the Saskatchewan Legislature, Government house, and the Wascana Centre. Wascana Centre is the largest urban park in North America, more than double the size of Central Park in New York City, honours the original city name and has become an important community space for Regina residents. Our tour of Regina ends at the RCMP Heritage Centre and Depot Academy, the home of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), where RCMP members have trained since 1885 and even today remains the only RCMP training site in Canada.Continuing across the Canadian heartland, we leave Saskatchewan behind and enter our third province on our journey east, Manitoba. A tour of Toronto includes Yonge Street, the longest street in the world, Casa Loma, Chinatown, the waterfront and the CN Tower, an icon of Toronto's skyline.

A short drive to Niagara Falls, the self-proclaimed "Honeymoon Capital of the World". The city of Niagara Falls sits on the banks of the Niagara River and provides the perfect view of the famed falls, Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and the Bridal Veil Falls. The three waterfalls straddle the international border of Canada and USA and collectively have the highest flow rate of any waterfalls in the world, with a vertical drop of more than 165 ft. To fully appreciate the power of these waterfalls, we board the Hornblower Cruise, formerly the Maid of the Mist, which allows us to cruise to the base of the thundering falls. After viewing from the falls from their base, we rise high above them for a spectacular view from the Skylon Tower as we enjoy dinner at the top this evening.

Today we will visit the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, in a region blessed with a unique climate and rich soil that makes for near perfect wine producing conditions. Niagara-on-the-Lake is a picturesque country town with dozens of local wineries, each with their own unique method and style in creating wine this region is known for. We will visit a local winery for a tour of their processes and of course to taste the finished product.

Today our journey takes us from Niagara to Kingston, known as the Limestone City for the large number of stone-built granite buildings in the city. Now the location of the prestigious Queens University, this university town sits on the edge of Lake Ontario and is a gateway to the pristine Thousand Lakes Region. We take a trolley tour of this historic city, the first capital city of the Province of Canada in 1841, which was then a British Colony. Our tour explores the history of Kingston and concludes at Bellevue House, a National Historic Site of Canada, and the childhood home of Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A. MacDonald.

We continue our drive stopping at Gananoque to take lunch time river cruise to see some of the famous 1000 Islands that dot the St Lawrence River. Today we are joined by a local guide as we embark on a sightseeing tour of this fascinating city. We start with a guided tour of Parliament Hill. Designed and built in a gothic revival style and featuring national symbols of Canada throughout its design, Parliament Hill stands on the banks of the Ottawa River and is affectionately known by locals and politicians as "The Hill". Our tour of Ottawa continues showcasing the Rideau Canal, a National Historic Site and UNESCO World Heritage Site; it is the oldest operational canal system in North America. The Rideau Canal system locks work to join the Ottawa River to Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River system. We visit the Museum of Nature and then the Canadian Museum of History. We conclude the day at Byward Market where an array of local food artisans show-case a wide variety of foods. The Byward Market is a wonderful place to enjoy your evening at leisure in Ottawa.

Today we discover Québec City (the Upper and Lower Towns) through its history, architecture, and culture. We explore the walled city and the historic Lower Town, but also travel outside the city walls to see Parliament Hill and the famous Plains of Abraham. Old Québec is a UNESCO designated World Heritage City. Many Québec historic sites such as the Québec fortifications, Chateau Frontenac, Québec Citadel, Plains of Abraham, and Québec Île d ‘Orléans make up important landmarks of Old Québec City and the nearby region. Many different influences have shaped Québec’s history over the past 400 years – the First Nations, the French, the Acadians, the British, the Americans, the Germans and the Irish, to name a few. There is a lot to discover here on foot. We plan to walk through some pedestrian areas like the Dufferin Terrasse, around Chateau Frontenac, Place-Royale (birthplace of the city), and the Petit-Champlain borough

We arrive in Moncton this afternoon and do a brief drive tour of the town before checking into our hotel. Moncton, located in southeastern New Brunswick, boasts over 32 large scale contemporary murals in and around the heart of the city, a wonderful outdoor gallery, created by a mix of international and local muralists. At Resurgo Place, you will be able to visit Moncton Museum and Transportation Discovery Centre as well as take advantage of a variety of free services such as travel assistance, advice, access to maps and tourism guides, information about events, and attractions and festivals.

Jutting into the warm waters of the Gulf Stream current, this lively and historic region is filled with coastal charm and cultural significance. On our drive along the southern shores of the Gulf of St. Lawrence we will discover the heart of L’Acadie. We will make many stops along the way as we drive south from Bathurst to Shediac, the ‘Lobster Capital of the World’, visiting the towns of Miramichi and Bouctouche enroute. We then return to the town of Shediac, known as the "Lobster Capital of the World", where we see the World's Largest Lobster before embarking on a lobster cruise to learn about lobsters and the local fishery while we savour a freshly cooked lobster meal. This morning we drive to the Fundy National Park to the incredible Hopewell Rocks, home of the Flowerpots, peculiar rock formations that are shaped by tidal erosion and stand some 40-70 feet tall. These rocks are forested islands at high tide and resemble flowerpots at low tide. We will stop in Cap-Pelé. The area is North America’s largest exporter of smoked herring and we visit the Smokehouse Museum and later stop at by a working smokehouse where you will not only smell the smoked herring, but get to taste some. We will visit a fishermen’s workshop to see how lobster traps are made, then the Aboiteau wharf lobster pound and see Sainte-Thérèse-d’Avila Church, built in the shape of a boat.

Today we drive south across the New Brunswick border into Nova Scotia as we make our way to Halifax.Along the way will be to explore the Joggins Fossil Cliffs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will see magnificently exposed layers of rock revealing the world's most complete fossil record of life in the "Coal Age" of 300 million years ago.Upon arrival at Halifax, we will do a quick city tour before dinner and having the evening at leisure.

Today we take a city tour of Halifax, which includes the Victorian Public Gardens, the Titanic Grave Site, and several historic sites in and around the city. We will also visit the Canadian Museum of Immigration on Pier 21, a former ocean liner terminal and Canada's last remaining immigration shed, showcasing some of Canada’s immigration history. This afternoon, we visit the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic which is rich with maritime history and stories of the people that define Nova Scotia. The evening is at leisure to explore Halifax's harbour front, walk along the promenade, or sample local cuisine at a city centre restaurant.

This morning we travel the rugged south shore of Nova Scotia, to the well-known town of Peggy's Cove to visit Peggy's Point Lighthouse, which sits high upon the smooth wave-worn granite of the coast. This is the most photographed lighthouse in Canada. Before departing Peggy's Cove, we will visit the Acadian Maple Products shop, a family-owned business who are the largest producers of maple syrup in Nova Scotia. Continuing along Nova Scotia's rugged coast, we visit picturesque Mahone Bay, showcasing three elegant churches on the sheltered harbour of this quaint village. We then visit UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lunenburg, one of Nova Scotia's most historic towns and home of the famed fishing schooner Bluenose II. Here we visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic to learn the history of commercial fishing in Atlantic Canada.

Today we visit Grand-Pré National Historic Site and World UNESCO Heritage Site, where we learn about the tragic upheaval of the Acadians, descendants of French settlers, who were expelled from this area. The Grand-Pré site commemorates the area as a centre of Acadian settlement from 1682 to 1755 and the Deportation of the Acadians, which began in 1755 and continued until 1762. We then travel to Annapolis Royal, on the Evangeline Trail, with over 150 heritage buildings including the oldest wooden house in Canada. We have some free time to explore the area and enjoy local cuisine before continuing our journey to New Brunswick on board the Digby ferry for a scenic crossing on the Bay of Fundy, the 27 km stretch of water that separates Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and is home to the world's highest tides. We end our day in the city of Saint John located on the Bay of Fundy and have the rest of our evening at leisure.

Our morning is spent exploring Saint John on a city tour where we see the natural phenomenon of the Reversing Falls, a series of rapids and whirlpools on the Saint John River that empties into the Bay of Fundy. The extreme tides of the Bay of Fundy reverse the flow of the falls as the waters rise and fall. This afternoon we travel to the quaint village of St. Andrews by-the-Sea, with a treasure trove of beautiful architecture, scenery, and rich marine life. Everything about this seaside resort town is special, including its status as a National Historic District and as one of the oldest and loveliest small towns in the Maritime Provinces. We visit the 27-acre Kingsbrae Gardens, with over 50,000 perennials in many themed gardens, before enjoying the rest of our evening at leisure.

This morning, we tour the Fundy Discovery Aquarium, which showcases the local marine life found in the Bay of Fundy. We will see harbour seals through the windows of an underwater viewing area and see some more in the gigantic touch pool. Before reaching Fredericton, we will visit the Kings Landing Historical Settlement, an authentic village, depicting the 100-year transformation of a young colony into the young nation of Canada. Enjoy a guided tour of the Historical Village and Museum, followed by some free time to explore the 40 exhibits with over 70,000 artifacts on your own. We then continue to New Brunswick’s capital city of Fredericton on the banks of the Saint John River. Time permitting this afternoon or on the following morning, we suggest a visit to Fredericton’s Beaverbrook Art Gallery to see some master artworks and Dali’s Santiago el Grande (viewed best by lying on the floor and looking up). Fredericton has a thriving art and cultural scene with more artisans per capita than anywhere else in Canada.

This morning we will have an entertaining and informative city tour with a local guide, discovering Fredericton through local eyes and all it has to offer. This afternoon, we travel through the Fundy National Park to the incredible Hopewell Rocks, home of the Flowerpots, peculiar rock formations that are shaped by tidal erosion and stand some 40-70 feet tall. These rocks are forested islands at high tide and resemble flowerpots at low tide. After visiting this incredible area, we continue to Moncton, located in southeastern New Brunswick, where we have the evening at leisure. Moncton boasts over 32 large scale contemporary murals in and around the heart of the city, a wonderful outdoor gallery, created by a mix of international and local muralists. At Resurgo Place, you will be able to visit Moncton Museum and Transportation Discovery Centre as well as take advantage of a variety of free services such as travel assistance, advice, access to maps and tourism guides, information about events, and attractions and festivals.

This morning we visit world-famous Magnetic Hill, a natural phenomenon unique to this area that completely defies the laws of gravity. We will see our own coach coasting uphill with no power at all. We then continue to the town of Shediac, known as the "Lobster Capital of the World", where we see the World's Largest Lobster before embarking on a lobster cruise to learn about lobsters and the local fishery while we savour a freshly cooked lobster lunch. Following our cruise, we make our way to the province of Prince Edward Island crossing on the Confederation Bridge. The curved, 12.9 km. (8 mile) long bridge is the longest in the world crossing ice-covered water, linking mainland New Brunswick with Prince Edward Island, and continues to be one of Canada’s top engineering achievements of the 20th century. After four years of construction using more than five thousand local workers, the Confederation Bridge opened to traffic on May 31, 1997. We arrive in the capital city of Charlottetown and have the remainder of our evening at leisure.

Charlottetown is the capital of Prince Edward Island and is located on the southern coast of the province. Our city tour highlights some of the historical buildings including St. Dunstan's Basilica and The Province House National Historic Site, where the Charlottetown Conference was held in 1864. We then explore some of Prince Edward Island's treasures, including Cavendish National Park and the Green Gables Heritage Place, where you can walk through the memory-filled rooms of the beloved fictional character, Anne of Green Gables. We sample some of the best preserves in the world at the Prince Edward Island Preserves Company and visit the fishing village of North Rustico.

Today we travel back to the mainland and drive along a scenic route to Baddeck, Nova Scotia, located on Cape Breton Island. Baddeck is a town situated in the centre of Cape Breton, where the Baddeck River empties into Bras d'Or Lake, and is known for its tranquil beauty in the heart of the island.

This afternoon we will meet up and spend time at the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site overlooking the Bras d'Or Lakes, where displays showcase the life of Alexander Graham Bell, and give us a look into his mind with many artifacts, photos, and replicas of his many inventions.

Today we experience the picturesque and renowned Cabot Trail and Margaree Valley. This 298 km highway weaves through The Cape Breton Highlands National Park, rewarding travellers with spectacular valley and coastal sceneries all along the way. We will stop at Lone. Shieling, Pleasant Bay and Neil's Harbour, all with spectacular seascapes, sweeping beaches, rare plants and abundant wildlife. We end our day in Sydney and enjoy the evening at our leisure. Sydney is the historic capital of the Cape Breton region and the largest urban centre on the island. From the harbour front boardwalk complete with buskers, the visiting cruise ships, to the world’s largest fiddle, Sydney is a charming place where we have the evening to explore.

Today we visit the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, stepping back in time to a bygone era when the French and English fought for control of the New World, and when Nova Scotia was the battleground. We experience what life was like in the bustling French fortified town of Louisbourg in 1744. After a guided tour, we will have some time to explore the area at leisure. This afternoon we visit Cape Breton's Miners' Museum, paying tribute to the region's long and rich coal mining history and home to the famous choir of miners - The Men of the Deeps. We take an underground tour of the Ocean's Deep Colliery beneath the Museum's building before returning to Sydney.

Following breakfast, we board the Marine Atlantic Ferry for the 6 hour long crossing to Port aux Basques in Newfoundland. Newfoundland is Canada's most easterly province and is also known as "The Rock". On arrival, we travel north through one of the province's best farming areas, Codroy Valley, to the town of Corner Brook, on the west side of the island and renowned for its world-famous salmon bearing river, the Humber.

Today we explore the incredible Gros Morne National Park, with its towering inland fjords and walking trails. We will learn about the geology of the area at the Gros Morne Visitor Centre and experience it firsthand with a scenic walk through the Tablelands area discovering the unique flora and fauna native to the region. Moose, caribou, waterfalls, and dozens of unforgettable photographic scenes add to this UNESCO World Heritage Destination. Next, we visit Lobster Cove Lighthouse in Rocky Harbour and enjoy a boat cruise of Bonne Bay and participate in an age-old tradition - the "Screech In" ceremony, featuring live traditional music, a cod fish, and a taste of the famous Newfoundland Screech. Following the boat cruise, we continue up the Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland to the town of Cow Head.

This morning we travel the well-known Viking Trail Route to the most northerly tip of Newfoundland, to the L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site. We will see where the Vikings, the first Europeans to reach the New World, landed and established a settlement. We visit the interpretive centre, tour the Viking ruins, and have an interactive experience at the longhouse to discover what life was like for the Viking encampment in 1,000 AD. As we make our way onwards to St. Anthony, at the centre of the Northern Peninsula, we tour the town and make our way up to the St. Anthony Lighthouse. Look down at the crashing waves below the shoreline and take in the view of the town. The evening is at leisure.

Making our way along the Viking Trail Route to Deer Lake, we have plenty of scenic stops along the way, with informative talks from our Tour Leader throughout our journey. We visit The Arches Provincial Park along the western coast of Newfoundland and take some time to explore the natural rock formations that have been shaped by the power of ocean tides.

Gander is a town full of history and plays a vital role in the international aviation industry. Gander is also the setting for the now famous musical ‘Come from Away’ showcasing the story of how the friendly town handled the sudden arrival of 38 plane loads totaling 7000 passengers who landed here following the September 11th terrorist attacks in the US. We visit the North Atlantic Aviation Museum this morning and learn about the important historical events that have made this town an inspiration to all Canadians.

Today, we visit the Iceberg Alley and the historic town of Twillingate. At the Prime Berth Fishery and Heritage Centre, an interpretive fishing centre, we learn about the history of the all-important fishing industry in Newfoundland, and how the industry has changed over the years. This afternoon is spent exploring the area with a tour taking in the history of Twillingate and the surrounding areas. We stop and visit Long Point Lighthouse, which sits more than 300 feet above the sea and is still operated by one lighthouse keeper year-round guiding ships through the fog and the stormy nights. We finally make our way to Gander for an evening at leisure.

Today we take a scenic drive through Terra Nova National Park, Canada's most easterly national park, where the boreal forest meets the rugged Atlantic coastline. A visit to the Terra Nova Marine Interpretation Centre will inform us about North Atlantic marine creatures and the importance of local conservation efforts. This afternoon we arrive in Newfoundland's capital city of St. John's, an eccentric, colourful city which dates back to 1519, and is one of the oldest European settlements in North America. The remainder of our evening is at leisure, with time to explore, shop, or enjoy the local cuisine.

Today is a full day of local touring as we explore North America's oldest city. We visit Canada's second largest National Historic Park as well as Signal Hill and Cape Spear, home to the oldest lighthouse and the most easterly point in North America. This afternoon, we enjoy a coastal cruise with opportunities to see whales and puffins at the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve. Following that, we will immerse ourselves in the traditions of Newfoundland and Labrador's largest public cultural space, The Rooms, showcasing history, heritage, and artistic expression of this unique province. This evening’s farewell dinner will celebrate the amazing time we have spent together. This is the time to exchange stories, memories and the highlights of our time spent along the East Coast of Canada.
