Arrive in Kelowna for the start of your Okanagan journey. Check into your hotel and meet your fellow travellers and Tour Leader. Tonight we’ll enjoy a Welcome Dinner on board a 2-hour cruise of beautiful Lake Okanagan. We will sail around City Park, under the William R. Bennett Bridge, around the south side of the bridge with views of spectacular homes and vineyards, and back through the bridge for a picture perfect shot of the cityscape illuminated by the glow of Kelowna’s lights.
This morning we’ll start our journey south along the Okanagan Wine Trail towards Osoyoos, Canada’s only true desert area. We make our first stop at the mystical Spotted Lakes, unique to this region and the object of lore for the First Nations People. Our journey then takes us through the Similkameen Valley, a pristine stretch of vineyards, orchards and small farms set amongst the dramatic background of rugged mountains. The absence of pesticide use leads the region to claim the title of “Organic Capital of Canada”. We’ll visit a historic Grist Mill before stopping in Keremeos for our first tasting of the regions Organic Wines. We’ll stop next at Nk’Mip Cellars, the first Indigenous-owned winery in North America, to experience the art of food and wine pairing with award-winning wines and specially prepared “Four Food Chief” inspired food bites. After our light lunch, we’ll journey back up the valley and spend some time sampling the fare of Burrowing Owl Estate Winery. We continue north to nearby Oliver, “Wine Capital of Canada,” where we’ll spend the night.

A beautiful and relaxing day lies ahead. Our first stop will be a visit to the newly completed District Wine Village, where you can meet some of the local vintners and sample their offerings. We’ll continue north to the resort community of Penticton, neatly perched between Skaha and Okanagan Lakes. The city is famous for it’s annual Peach Festival and renowned for its’ wines. We’ll stop for a short tour of the SS Sicamous a visual reminder of the vital role that Sternwheelers paid in the early transportation routes in the area.
Our journey continues along the eastern shore of Okanagan Lake to an area known as the Naramata Bench, home to over 40 wineries with plenty of terroir to swirl, sip and savour. The historic Naramata Inn will be our host for lunch followed by an early afternoon tasting at Bench 1775. Later in the afternoon we return to the western shore of the 90-mile-long lake and travel through the popular resort communities that dot the shoreline. Along the way watch out for the famed lake monster OGOPOGO. Our final tasting will take place at Mission Hill Family Estate. Creating wines that rival the world's best, the winery is renowned for its elegant architecture, dazzling hilltop views, gracious hospitality, Concert Series and the acclaimed Terrace Restaurant. From here we’ll cross the Graceful Bennett Bridge to the beautiful city of Kelowna and our home for the next 2 nights.

Today is a day to relax and enjoy this beautiful destination. The morning is free to explore Kelowna or do some local shopping. There will also be optional tours available for wine tasting, cycling, kayaking, or even a round of golf on one of the areas many championship courses. Our Tour Leader will be happy to offer suggestions and facilitate booking any activities.
Later this afternoon, we’ll regroup and head to the Okanagan Wine & Orchard Museum to unearth the agricultural treasures that make this region unique. Meet the determined people who lived the trials and triumphs of the tree fruit and wine industries. Discover how growing, processing, transporting and enjoying tree fruits and wine diversified the local landscape and communities.
Our Farewell Dinner tonight will be at the famous CedarCreek Estate Winery overlooking Lake Okanagan. We’ll tour the vineyard and learn about their commitment to organic farming, followed by a wine tasting, before enjoying a multi-course “Trust the Chef” dinner. Enjoying fantastic food in this gorgeous setting is the perfect way to celebrate the end of our Okanagan journey.
