Day 1: Arrive in Saint John

Arrive in Saint John, Canada’s oldest incorporated city, set along the powerful Bay of Fundy, home to the highest tides in the world. With its historic architecture, vibrant waterfront, and rich maritime heritage, Saint John offers a unique blend of old-world charm and modern energy. Settle into your accommodation and take time to explore the uptown streets, where brick buildings, local shops, and harbour views create a welcoming first impression.

Day 2: Explore Saint John

Today, discover Saint John through a different lens on a First Nations Storytellers walking tour. Join local storytellers for a guided walk along the harbour, where the Wabanaki peoples gathered for countless generations. As you follow these historic pathways, hear the stories of the Wolastoqi and Mi’kmaq peoples and their deep connection to this land, long before European settlement.  Through stories grounded in tradition and culture, you’ll gain insight into how Indigenous communities shaped this region and influenced the creation of what would become Canada’s oldest incorporated city.   After your tour, visit the Saint John City Market, the oldest continuously operating farmer’s market in Canada. Opened in 1876, this lively market remains a cornerstone of local life, where you can sample regional specialties, browse artisan goods, and experience the city’s vibrant community spirit.

Day 3: Saint John to St. Andrews by-the-Sea

Travel along the scenic Bay of Fundy coastline to St. Andrews by-the-Sea, a charming seaside town steeped in Loyalist history. Founded by United Empire Loyalists in the late 18th century, the town is known for its beautifully preserved architecture, coastal views, and relaxed pace. Enjoy a walking tour through the historic district, where your guide will share fascinating stories of the town’s past, along with a few ghostly tales. Smuggling, hangings, storms and great fires...St. Andrews has it all! This stroll will let you discover some of the unique sites and artifacts that will reveal the amazing past of this region.Spend the rest of the day browsing boutique shops, strolling along the waterfront, and soaking in the town’s timeless charm.

Day 4: Whale Watching in St. Andrews

Experience one of the highlights of the Bay of Fundy with a whale and wildlife cruise. Set out on the water in search of some of the region’s most incredible marine life, including humpback, minke, and finback whales, and, if you’re lucky, the rare North Atlantic right whale. Along the way, pass scenic lighthouses and small islands teeming with birdlife. Keep an eye out for puffins, bald eagles, seals, and dolphins as your expert crew shares insights into the area’s wildlife, history, and coastal ecosystems.

Day 5: St. Andrews to Fredericton

Journey inland to Fredericton, New Brunswick’s capital, known for its rich history, arts scene, and scenic riverfront setting. En route, visit Dumfries Maples, where you’ll enjoy a private tour and experience the traditions of maple syrup production. Sample warm maple taffy on snow and homemade biscuits with maple butter, a true Canadian treat. Continue to Kings Landing, a fascinating living history museum set across 300 acres. With costumed interpreters, historic buildings, and interactive experiences, you’ll step back into 19th-century New Brunswick and experience daily life as it once was.

Day 6: Fredericton to Saint John

After time to explore Fredericton, perhaps along the scenic Saint John River or through its galleries and boutiques, begin your return journey to Saint John.  Along the way, enjoy an in-depth guided tour of Moosehead Brewery, Canada’s oldest independent brewery, founded in 1867. Discover the remarkable story of the Oland family, whose brewing legacy has spanned six generations. Despite facing significant challenges, including devastating brewery fires, the Halifax Explosion, prohibition, and two World Wars, Moosehead has endured to become one of Canada’s most resilient and time-honoured companies.  During your visit, explore the historic brewery where production still takes place today. Learn how art, science, and passion come together in the brewing process as you tour the brewhouse and packaging operations. Over the course of the experience, sample a selection of classic and small-batch craft beers while gaining insight into how Moosehead has continued to evolve over more than 155 years.   This immersive experience offers not only a taste of Canada’s brewing heritage, but a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship and perseverance behind one of the country’s most iconic brands.

Tour Questions

Our tours are suitable for all age demographics. The average age of travelers is typically 45+

There are options for single travelers to join most tours. Solo Travelers can choose to pay the single supplement and have their own room throughout the tour. For those willing to share, we also have a Twin Share option that is offered for the majority of our tours. This means you will be sharing the hotel rooms with another single, same gender traveller who also books the Twin Share option. If this is the case, there will be no single supplement charged to either of you. If we are unable to match you with another Twin Share traveler, there may be a single surcharge applied to cover the full cost of the rooms on some of our longer tours. Please enquire before finalizing your booking for full details.

This tour has a low level of physical demand, although there may be some activities or sightseeing tours that require walking short distances. Please inquire if you have any mobility restrictions before completing your booking to ensure this tour is right for you.

Each passenger may bring one large suitcase and one carry-on bag. The weight limit for this suitcase is 32 kilograms/60 pounds. Baggage handling is provided at the hotels in our tour packages. Please advise our reservations staff if you will be bringing additional items such as a cane, walker or wheelchair. You may also bring one small soft-sided carry-on bag, which should easily fit into the overhead shelf of the coach. Each person is responsible for his/her own carryon luggage. Remember to check your airline baggage restrictions if you are flying, as they may differ from Anderson Vacations Tours guidelines.

The suggested allowance for non-included meals is $40.00 — $60.00 CAD per day (includes tipping).

Yes! There are many meals included on our fully escorted tours. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking so we can ensure there are alternative meal choices and arrangements made for you.

For your convenience, gratuities for local guides and meals stated on the itinerary are included in the price of the tour. For meals not included in your tour package please remember that it is customary to tip your server 15-20% in North America. Gratuities for your Motorcoach Driver and Tour Director are left to your discretion. We recommend $4.00 - $5.00 CAD per person, per day for your Motorcoach Driver and $6.00 - $7.00 CAD per person, per day for your Tour Director. if you can't find your
