  • Day 1: Hobart

    On arrival in Hobart collect the vehicle and then the rest of the day is at leisure to explore Hobart. Hobart is an attractive city built around a beautiful Harbour in the shadow of Mount Wellington. Places of interest include the Royal Botanical Gardens, Constitution Dock, Sandy Bay, Salamanca Place and Battery Point.

  • Day 2: Hobart to Strahan

    Depart Hobart this morning and travel via New Norfolk on the Lyall Highway – a spectacular road across the heart of Tasmania to the village of Strahan. Continue through the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. Several excellent short walks lead off the highway to rainforests, waterfalls and spectacular lookouts. Stop in Queenstown, surrounded by stark mountains, giving the town an eerie look. There are good views from Spion Kop Lookout, in the centre of town. Continue as the road winds along to the quiet town of Strahan, situated on Macquarie Harbour. Strahan is the only town on Tasmania’s forbidding west coast

  • Day 3: Strahan to Cradle Mountain National Park

    This morning you can take an optional cruise along the Gordon River. Cruises depart at 9am and return at 2pm. Depart Strahan and travel north to Zeehan, which was a booming mining town in the early 1900’s. The Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park is renowned for its walking tracks with spectacular mountain peaks, deep gorges, lakes, wild open moorlands and an incredible variety of wildlife.

  • Day 4: Cradle Mountain National Park

    Today is at your leisure to explore Cradle Mountain National Park including the many walks and spectacular scenery.

  • Day 5: Cradle Mountain National Park to Launceston

    Depart Cradle Mountain and travel east to Mole Creek. Along the way visit Marakoopa Cave, a wet cave which features two underground streams and an incredible glow-worm display. Continue east to Deloraine. You can also take short detours to visit some local gourmet delights such as local honey and cheese producers as well as a raspberry farm. Continue onto Launceston, the ‘Garden City’, the second largest city in Tasmania, and the centre of Tasmania's north. It is nestled in the hilly country where the Tamar, North Esk and South Esk rivers meet. Only 10 minutes from the city centre is the magnificent Cataract Gorge, here almost vertical cliffs line the banks of the South Esk River as it enters the Tamar.

  • Day 6: Launceston to St Helens

    Depart Launceston and travel north-east to Scottsdale, regarded as the hub of the North East serving some of the richest agricultural and forest country in Tasmania. Near Pyengana take a walk to St Columba Falls and pick up some local gourmet cheese. Continue east to the small bayside town of St Helens, a fishing port well known for its crayfish, flounder and scallops. Visit The Gardens and the Bay of Fires Coastal Reserves near Binalong Bay for stunning beaches.


  • Day 7: St Helens to Freycinet National Park

    Travel south to Freycinet National Park. Along the way travel through the towns of Scamander and St Mary’s, before stopping for pancakes at Elephant Pass. Or take the coast road from Falmouth to the Chain of Lagoons. Stop at the small resort town of Bicheno before continuing south through Coles Bay to the Freycinet National Park. Stop along the way to explore the Friendly Beaches.


  • Day 8: Freycinet National Park

    Time at leisure today to explore all that the Freycinet National Park and has to offer, including abundant wildlife, spectacular beaches including Wineglass Bay and a variety of walking trails.


  • Day 9: Freycinet National Park to Hobart

    Make an early start this morning, so you can spend some time at Port Arthur, south of Hobart. As you depart Freycinet perhaps make a stop near Swansea at one of the local wineries or berry farm. Continue south on the Tasman Highway to Sorell then onto the Arthur Highway to Port Arthur. Port Arthur is perhaps Australia's best-known historic site and has the well-preserved convict settlement ruins. Leave Port Arthur, travel back along the Arthur Highway to Sorrell. On the way, pass by Eaglehawk Neck and visit the Blowhole and Tasman's Arch. Cross the Derwent River to reach Hobart on the Tasman Highway. If time permits you can also travel back to Hobart via the historic village of Richmond, with many treasures of Tasmania’s colonial past.

Our tours are suitable for all age demographics. The average age of travelers is typically 45+

There are options for single travelers to join most tours. Solo Travelers can choose to pay the single supplement and have their own room throughout the tour. For those willing to share, we also have a Twin Share option that is offered for the majority of our tours. This means you will be sharing the hotel rooms with another single, same gender traveller who also books the Twin Share option. If this is the case, there will be no single supplement charged to either of you. If we are unable to match you with another Twin Share traveler, there may be a single surcharge applied to cover the full cost of the rooms on some of our longer tours. Please enquire before finalizing your booking for full details.

This tour has a low level of physical demand, although there may be some activities or sightseeing tours that require walking short distances. Please inquire if you have any mobility restrictions before completing your booking to ensure this tour is right for you.

Each passenger may bring one large suitcase and one carry-on bag. The weight limit for this suitcase is 32 kilograms/60 pounds. Baggage handling is provided at the hotels in our tour packages. Please advise our reservations staff if you will be bringing additional items such as a cane, walker or wheelchair. You may also bring one small soft-sided carry-on bag, which should easily fit into the overhead shelf of the coach. Each person is responsible for his/her own carryon luggage. Remember to check your airline baggage restrictions if you are flying, as they may differ from Anderson Vacations Tours guidelines.

The suggested allowance for non-included meals is $40.00 — $60.00 CAD per day (includes tipping).

Yes! There are many meals included on our fully escorted tours. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking so we can ensure there are alternative meal choices and arrangements made for you.

For your convenience, gratuities for local guides and meals stated on the itinerary are included in the price of the tour. For meals not included in your tour package please remember that it is customary to tip your server 15-20% in North America. Gratuities for your Motorcoach Driver and Tour Director are left to your discretion.
