Day 1: Calgary to Banff. Snowshoeing Excursion to Marble Canyon

Travel by coach along a scenic section of Highway 1 from Calgary to Banff. Drop your bags off at the hotel and then an easy afternoon introductory snowshoeing tour experience. Travel to Kootenay National Park and admire the dramatic colours of Marble Canyon. See how the pounding and frozen waters of Tokumn Creek have eroded a 40-meter deep limestone gorge. Walkthrough the forest left standing from the 2003 Kootenay fire and search for snowshoe hare, moose and wolf tracks while exploring how the landscape is changing and animals are adapting.

Day 2: Johnston Canyon Ice Walk

This morning join the popular Johnston Canyon Ice Walk. Hike on steel walkways built into the canyon walls that give an airy view of the canyon below - Travel through prime wildlife habitat on your way to the trailhead and learn the clues to how Johnston Canyon was formed - This popular walk will lead you past the lower falls and to the breathtaking upper icefalls. The included evening sleigh ride will take you through the Bow River Valley showing you the remote areas around Banff, western style!

Day 3: Day Ski Pass

Banff National Park is home to one of the longest ski seasons in North America and three world-class ski areas, which are all located within 45 minutes of the Town of Banff: Mount Norquay, Sunshine Village, and the Lake Louise Ski Resort. Enjoy a full day of skiing or snowboarding and experience the "champagne powder" Banff is famous for.

Day 4: Travel along the famous Icefields Parkway from Banff to Jasper

Today, travel by coach on the iconic Icefield Parkway, one of the most scenic highways in the world and the main route connecting the resort towns of Jasper and Banff. Rich with wildlife, ancient glaciers and pristine lakes, keep your cameras handy as there is a photo opportunity at every curve along this road.

Day 5: Maligne Canyon Ice Walk or Marmot Basin Ski Pass

The Maligne Canyon Icewalk Tour in Jasper, Alberta, is one of Jasper's most popular and impressive winter adventures. Your tour guide will take you to the bottom of the Maligne Canyon "“ the deepest accessible canyon in Jasper National Park "“ where you will explore frozen waterfalls, ice caves, and incredible ice formations. You will learn about Jasper's Maligne Valley, Karst topography, and the mystery of the "disappearing" Medicine Lake. For those looking to explore some of the most thrilling skis runs in Alberta, you may choose to use your Marmot Basin Ski Pass for the day. Located in the breathtaking Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Marmot Basin is a ski and snowboard destination that inspires lasting memories. Only 20 minutes from the town of Jasper, Marmot Basin offers 3,000 vertical feet (914m) of superb skiing and snowboarding on 1,675 acres of varied terrain. Large, snow-filled bowls are the paradise for powder skiers and snowboarders. For those who enjoy cruising, our state of the art grooming fleet keeps the tree-lined trails groomed to perfection. Day 6: A Winter Wildlife Discovery Tour — a unique lifetime experience

Join the wildlife with our knowledgeable guides who are trained to seek out all of the park's most iconic creatures. Big or small, there are lots of animals to see in Jasper. Elk, deer, sheep, goats, coyotes, wolves, and moose are just a sample of Jasper's wild mountain fauna. Learn all about the ways these animals contribute to the rich diversity of the National Park and how they survive the mountain winters. Our guides are well versed in the history, geology, and ecology of the area and are happy to answer any questions you may have. As we travel through the Athabasca Valley we will show you some of the park's most beautiful scenery, so have your camera ready to capture some amazing photos of the highlights of your visit. This tour is the perfect way to spend a morning and your best opportunity to see the awe-inspiring mountain scenery and the wildlife of Jasper.

Day 7: Jasper to Edmonton by train

What is the average age of passengers for this tour?

Our tours are suitable for all age demographics. The average age of travelers is typically 45+

I am a solo traveler. Is there a single surcharge?

There are options for single travelers to join most tours. Solo Travelers can choose to pay the single supplement and have their own room throughout the tour. For those willing to share, we also have a Twin Share option that is offered for the majority of our tours. This means you will be sharing the hotel rooms with another single, same gender traveller who also books the Twin Share option. If this is the case, there will be no single supplement charged to either of you. If we are unable to match you with another Twin Share traveler, there may be a single surcharge applied to cover the full cost of the rooms on some of our longer tours. Please enquire before finalizing your booking for full details.

How physically demanding is this tour? Are you able to accommodate people with mobility restrictions/limitations?

This tour has a low level of physical demand, although there may be some activities or sightseeing tours that require walking short distances. Please inquire if you have any mobility restrictions before completing your booking to ensure this tour is right for you.

How much luggage should I bring?

Each passenger may bring one large suitcase and one carry-on bag. The weight limit for this suitcase is 32 kilograms/60 pounds. Baggage handling is provided at the hotels in our tour packages. Please advise our reservations staff if you will be bringing additional items such as a cane, walker or wheelchair. You may also bring one small soft-sided carry-on bag, which should easily fit into the overhead shelf of the coach. Each person is responsible for his/her own carryon luggage. Remember to check your airline baggage restrictions if you are flying, as they may differ from Anderson Vacations Tours guidelines.

What is your recommended spending amount for non-included meals?

The suggested allowance for non-included meals is $40.00 — $60.00 CAD per day (includes tipping).

Can you accommodate passengers with dietary restrictions (food allergies, vegan, vegetarian etc.)?

Yes! There are many meals included on our fully escorted tours. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking so we can ensure there are alternative meal choices and arrangements made for you.

Are gratuities included in the tour cost?

For your convenience, gratuities for local guides and meals stated on the itinerary are included in the price of the tour. For meals not included in your tour package please remember that it is customary to tip your server 15-20% in North America. Gratuities for your Motorcoach Driver and Tour Director are left to your discretion. We recommend $4.00 - $5.00 CAD per person, per day for your Motorcoach Driver and $6.00 - $7.00 CAD per person, per day for your Tour Director. if you can't find your
