As the second most populated city in Canada, Montréal has many neighbourhoods that will tickle your tastebuds and please the eye. Famous for creating stacked smoked meat sandwiches, bagels boiled in water and honey then fire-roasted, poutine (fries covered in squeeky cheese and rich gravy) in addition to the classic French croissants. Most visitors can't imagine any more food fitting in their belly. It's no wonder that Montréal has more restaurants per capita than any other North American city. It's also an ideal city for walkers, especially along the cobble stoned streets of Old Montréal as building architecture tells a story on every corner, sometimes as far back as 330 years. Underneath the city is the world's largest network of tunnels, a great escape from the summer heat or the winter chills in addition to shops and shortcuts. Back above ground visitors can climb the steps or bus up to the best viewpoint at Mount Royal. Once there perhaps you can spot other places to visit such as the floating spa in the old port, the permanent Cirque Du Soleil grounds, or one of the forty museums in the city. Timing your visit to coordinate with the International Jazz Festival, Just for Laughs Comedy Festival or even the Formula 1 Grand Prix is also a favourite option for visitors.
